Being 5 years old we want other organizations to know about our performance uptill now.


   Initiated Kapra Atia Project in coordination with Rotary Club Mehran to provide clothes to 300 children.





   On eid eve, 167 street children were provided clothes at Pakistan Chowk and BurnsRoad. Town Police Officer, Saddar Town was kind enough to grace the occasion with his presence.





   Similarly on different occasions such as International Earth Day etc., children are given clothes. Also included in this are those kids who visit our office regularly. 





   We started a one-year pilot project ¡°Night & Day Shelter¡± at our office premises. The project aims to study children¡¯s felt needs and focuses on developing an opportunity to draw them out from the mire in which they have been so mercilessly thrown.




    Blood screening tests were conducted on these children.




   A brainstorming Session was held on the issue of Street Children with the cooperation of SPARC in which students participated.




   A Photographic Exhibition ¡°Street Vision¡± as held at World Social Forum Karachi from 25th to 29th March 2006. The exhibition highlighted the various issues that impact on the lives of Street Children, and captured not only the quiet but everyday moments in their lives as well.




   Training Workshops of Police Officers on street Children in conflict with the Law in respect to Juvenile Justice System Ordinance 2000 was held at 11 police stations of Saddar Town. The main objective was to provide greater protection for children in conflict with the law (CCL) through the accessing of rights and by improving institutional responses through strengthening of juvenile justice institutions.




   Another milestone was organizing a Street Theatre at Karachi Press Club as part of the Street Children Awareness Campaign.




   We organized a three day Photographic exhibition at Arts Council of Pakistan, Karachi which proved instrumental in shedding light on the plight of street children.




   We initiated Street Children Development Project which is a joint venture project with the collaboration of Atlanta Drinking Water. The focal point of this is to explore different horizons for the well being of street children.




   We celebrated World Health Day at Press Club as part of our Street Children Awareness Campaign.




   We organized International Earth Day at Sindh Provincial Assembly; Deputy Speaker Rahila Tiwana was the Chief Guest.




   Police Training Workshop with the collaboration of Anti Dacoity and Robbery Cell was organized at ADRC Centre, Saddar.




   We organized a Sketch Exhibition of Street Children at Arts Council of Pakistan as part of our Awareness Campaign.




   We are a Member of Child Rights Forum, a network to promote and protect child rights.




   A documentary on Street children ¡°Aks-e-Rah¡± was produced as part of our Awareness Campaign.




   Due to our unflinching efforts, students from Department of Sociology and Social Work, University of Karachi and other educational institutions are doing their research thesis on Street Children and related issues with constant support and guidance from our organization.




   So far we had assisted different print and electronic media to cover documentaries and assignments related on the issue of Street Children.

   Non-formal education is provided to the street kids at our center.

   We are a Member of National Missing and Exploited Children Network headed by LHRA.

   We participated as trainers in different Training Workshops organized by PNAC and BPLC on Resource Mobilization and UNCRC and Juvenile Justice Ordinance.

   Conducted blood grouping of about 1800 school children of different schools in Karachi as part of our Blood Group Awareness Campaign.

   Started Database Project of Street Children with the cooperation of Standard Chartered Bank.

   Health treatment is being provided with the networking of government hospitals and private clinics.

   We, as part of Dialogue for Development Forum (A network of civil society organizations) celebrated International Aids Candlelight Memorial at Arts Council of Pakistan

   We also celebrated Peace Day with collaboration of Arts Council of Pakistan and International Peace Movement.

   We are referral partner of a Core Group formed on Street Children headed by Madadgar.

   We celebrated International Aids Candlelight Memorial organized by Pakistan National Aids Consortium at Kocha-e-Sakafat, Arts Council.

   The launching of our website www.initiator.org was yet another milestone for the promotion of our work.

   We conducted a research study on violence against children in urban and rural areas of Karachi.

   A brainstorming Session was held on the issue of Street Children in which students of University of Karachi participated.
